Retail Category Manager

Our Client, a leading European Homewares and electrical goods retailer is currently seeking to appoint a Retail Category Manager to their Dublin office

The Retail Category Manager’s job is to develop commercial and promotional activity plans, which are market leading and easy implementable and to ensure that our client is the most competitive retailer in the market and delivers the best range and service.

Key Job responsibilities of the Retail Category Manager

  • Compile analysis of market, customer, competitor and financial performance to generate strategy.
  • Work with category team to develop and deliver a comprehensive range strategy that meets our customer needs and identifies opportunities and risks
  • Drive sales and value added services growth across accredited agents and independent agents stores in line with Distribution Strategy
  • Developing and implementing a retail strategy across all accredited agents stores to ensure best in class retail experience across all stores
  • Work with accredited agents to maximise sales through review and implementation of optimum property strategy
  • Responsible for developing innovative and new ideas to create footfall and grow business in accredited agent stores
  • Forges close working relationships with key agent stakeholders through excellent communications and account management.
  • Responsible for delivering KPI’s agreed for agents
  • Responsible for ensuring all agent store teams have tools and training to maximise sales and customer’s experience
  • Responsible for ensuring all agent administration is updated in a timely manner
  • Oversees key projects that are in place for developing agents business
  • Work closely with the category team to ensure the appropriate range is developed forIreland.
  • Liaising with and frequently visiting stores to understand the customer proposition and gain feedback from both stores and customers.
  • Respond to store feedback via the website and calls as appropriate.
Skills and experience of the Category Manager

  • 5yrs experience in a retail head office role
  • Educated to degree standard or equivalent significant experience.
  • Substantial commercial experience working within a dynamic business. Experience of both the Electricals market and products desirable.
